What is Pilates?

 Developed 90 years ago by Joseph Pilates (pronounced “pih-lah-teez”), Pilates exercises are done with concentration and precision, emphasizing core stability and spinal flexibility. The exercises are done on specifically designed equipment or on the floor (matwork). Pilates simultaneously lengthens and strengthens musculature, working the entire body as an integrated whole, resulting in the most balanced body imaginable. It is unlike any other exercise!

About Me

 
While rehabilitating after an ankle surgery in 2000, I was introduced to Pilates as a way to stay fit and balanced.  Fast forward to 2009  after experiencing the overall level of health and fitness through Pilates, I decided to make a career change from a marketing/sales professional to a professional Pilates instructor.  After deciding to pursue a career in Pilates, I was certified through IMX Pilates and also under Rael Isacowitz of Body Arts and Science (BASI) in Newport Beach, CA. The combination of classical repertoire from New York and contemporary/progressive methods, I bring a knowledgeable, comprehensive and fun approach to my Pilates practice. I continue to learn and be inspired through on-going education. It is my passion to work with each client to obtain his/her optimal health and physical performance.
